Job Summary:

We are seeking a qualified and enthusiastic tennis instructor to join our team. The ideal candidate should have a passion for the sport of tennis and be able to effectively communicate and demonstrate tennis techniques and strategies to players of various skill levels. The tennis instructor will be responsible for conducting group lessons for Pee Wees and Juniors ages 6 to 16 years old. They will also assist in coordinating and supervising tennis tournaments and events. VERY IMPORTANT!! - You must be 16 years or older and have a car or reliable transportation. You must be physically fit to handle the Tennis equipment; you will need to able to transport and setup the tennis equipment on the tennis court(s) and put the tennis equipment back into the storage facility when the tennis clinics are completed for the day. You may also be required to pick up the tennis equipment from time to time and use it at another Slammer Tennis World location.

Responsibilities:

Develop and implement lesson plans for individual and group tennis lessons.

Teach proper tennis techniques, footwork, and strategies to players of different skill levels.

Assess the strengths and weaknesses of players and provide personalized feedback and guidance for improvement.

Conduct drills, exercises, and practice sessions to enhance players' tennis skills and fitness.

Organize and supervise tennis clinics, camps, and workshops for players of all ages.

Provide one-on-one coaching to individuals seeking personalized attention and skill development.

Coordinate and oversee tennis tournaments and events, ensuring smooth operations and adherence to rules and regulations.

Take attendance, monitor and evaluate players' progress, track their performance, and provide regular progress reports to players and their parents/guardians.

Maintain a safe and positive learning environment, enforcing tennis court rules and ensuring equipment is in good condition.

Stay updated with the latest trends, techniques, and rules in the sport of tennis and incorporate them into coaching sessions.

Promote the tennis program, recruit new players, and contribute to the growth and development of the tennis organization.

Preferred Qualifications:

Proven experience as a tennis instructor or player at a competitive level

Strong knowledge of tennis techniques, rules, and strategies.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively work with players of all ages and skill levels.

Ability to demonstrate and explain tennis skills clearly and concisely.

Organizational and time management skills to plan and coordinate lessons, clinics, and events.

Certification from a recognized tennis coaching association is preferred, but not necessary.

First aid and CPR certification is desirable but not necessary.  

Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to accommodate the needs of the players and the organization
